2023 Tribal Environmental Health Forum
"Elevating Traditional Knowledge to Achieve Environmental Health Justice in Indigenous Communities" was the topic of the Southwest Environmental Health Science Center’s 4th Tribal Environmental Health Forum, held on May 16 and 17 at the Ak Chin Community. This forum is a chance for Tribal Environmental Health Professionals and University faculty and staff to come together to address the current and future environmental health needs of our tribal communities. The forum included energizing speakers, youth panel, and offered the chance for participants to participate in workshops and network with other environmental health professionals. This forum is organized in partnership with UA Indigenous Resilience Center. The forum discussions were illustrated by drawers, including Derrick Gonzales, Tohono O’odham, as captured in the photos.
