Haury Program Representing UA at the 2022 AISES Conference

It was great meeting old friends and making new at the 2022 National AISES Conference in Palm Springs, the premiere gathering of Native students in STEM. 

The Haury Program was an Eagle Sponsor for the second year in a row allowing us to have a large table in the center of the hall and invite UArizona programs from across campus to table with us. Native SOAR, ENVS, Admissions, College of Education and IRes were just some of the groups at our table.  Nancy Petersen attended for Haury and said, “the best part of tabling there was the number of Native Alum students that came up and said how happy they were to see UArizona there. It was so inspiring to see how our alum are thriving!” 

Of course we also did our part to recruit new students. Fall 2023 will welcome the largest number of incoming Native students to UArizona in its history. Participating in conferences like AISES helps bring attention to the UArizona’s Native community of scholars and students and faculty and brings them to their new home to Wildcat country.
