Celebrating Five Years of Impact

On April 24, the Agnese Nelms Haury Program celebrated five years of impact. Keynote speaker Alberto Ríos gave an emotive talk about music, dreams, and achievements. Jane Hunter gave us a glimpse of the University of Arizona strategic plan for the coming years and Mary Grier, Haury Program Donor Advised Fund Board Member, recognized the commitment of the Haury Program Rising Voices Board Members.

Karletta Chief led a presentation of the project K'é bee da'ahíínííta: Strenght Through the Diné (Navajo) Clan System to Respond to Gold King Mine Spill, 2016 Challenge Grant winner. Also, members of Flowers and Bullets Collective and UA Community and School Garden Program presented advances of the project La Siembra: Sowing a New Model of Community Engagement Through Urban Agriculture, 2018 Challenge Grant Winner.
