Nancy Petersen joined the Haury Program in 2015 shortly after the Program was established at the University of Arizona, when she retired from the City of Tucson after a 25-year career in environmental management. Ms. Petersen has helped frame and implement the vision of the DAF Board, and of the Haury Program, and has served throughout the years as the Haury Program’s chief financial officer.

Ms. Peterson also has supported and helped to nurture many of the programs in which the Haury Program has invested, through devotion of her time and talents to the programs, by building strong relationships with the people and their activities, and by encouraging meaningful and respectful partnerships among internal and external communities. She, too, is celebrating her 10 years with Haury along with the Haury Program!

Ms. Petersen was a registered geologist in the State of Arizona. She received her B.A. in Geology from Colorado College, and her M.S. in hydrology from the University of Arizona. When not working, you can find her in the vegetable garden, in nature, running, or being taken for a walk by her dogs.
