The Haury Program provides direct funding to tribal-led projects concerning Water Sustainability in Native American tribes and Nations. We support projects and people who offer the most powerful, culturally appropriate, innovative, and effective means of addressing water access and quality issues facing tribal communities, particularly the Navajo Nation.
The Haury Program supports projects and people who offer the most powerful, culturally appropriate, innovative, and effective means of addressing water access and water quality issues facing federally-recognized tribes. Most of the projects are currently focused on the Navajo Nation, but we also support other projects. Although the work done amidst the COVID-19 crisis addressed immediate needs, it also sought to use the crisis as a chance to identify more fundamental issues and affect systemic change.
The Haury Program also supports key partners working on water sustainability projects for the production and distribution of media, including videos, podcasts, and newsletters, intended to raise awareness and promote solutions to water issues facing tribal communities.
